Creating a Trauma-Sensitive School Culture and Climate
This course explores the connection between trauma symptoms and student learning, with a focus on practical interventions that help create safe, supportive environments in schools.
Participants will engage with research and key theories that explain how trauma can affect behavior, regulation, and academic performance.
Educators will also apply learning beyond readings by exploring real-world strategies that can be integrated into classrooms and school systems.
The course is guided by three essential questions:
What can contribute to trauma in young children?
How can traumatic experiences impact brain development?
What factors within my control can help support students experiencing trauma symptoms?
Designed for: teachers, teacher leaders, principals, counselors, and district leaders.
