Cultivating a Calmer Classroom

This course explores the intersection of trauma symptoms, how trauma can show up in student behavior, and the impact it may have on learning.

Participants will examine research-informed interventions that support healing, emotional safety, and a trauma-sensitive school culture.

Educators will deepen their understanding of risk factors and common patterns associated with trauma, and learn strategies to reduce risk while strengthening protective supports across the classroom and school community.

The course also introduces key neuroscience concepts—including the role of dopamine and the “three-part brain”—to help educators understand emotion regulation and learning through a brain-based lens.

Equally important, this course emphasizes educator self-awareness and wellness as a foundation for supporting students with consistency and care.

Designed for: teachers, teacher leaders, principals, counselors, and district leaders.
